It may not be
easy to think about, but Winter comes every year...and soon after is
the dreaded Cabin Fever. This is a syndrome that happens
during Vermont's infamous fifth season: "Mud Season," Its
symptoms include a tendency to make long distance calls, eat too much
chocolate, make flight arrangements to warm spots, howling at the
moon. Cabin Fever is just when you think you can't stand the cold and
dark any more and you just have to do something or or or .....
And, here comes
the cure! Cabin Fever Follies! Whether you get up on stage
or join the audience, this is a safe alternative to howling, a less
expensive one than flying to Aruba.
Cabin Fever audience is seated (except during raucous, enthusiastic
applause) cabaret style at tables that seat up to 10 and at chairs all
around the room. You can
reserve an entire table or just some seats and we will seat others
with you or just sit around the room. Bring supper and beverages and we have prizes for the best
table decoration!
Tickets
for all seats are $10. We do sell out!. Reservations are strongly
recommended. If you are reserving for 4 or more, advance payment by
credit card is required. Make your reservation and you will be called
to confirm and to get credit card information. Call the voice mail at
583-1674 or email.
Doors
open at 6:30 for seating, the show starts at 7:30. If you are paying
at the door, you must purchase your tickets no later than 7:10 or they
may be sold.
The
Raisinettes are our "commercials" raisinetting money for a
charity (which have included the Ambulance Fund, Vermont Children's
Aid Society, Habitat for Humanity and others) Dancing to the beat of the
grapevine, these intrepid volunteers will carry your message to the
audience. You can sell your car, find a date or just let us know what
you think!
Acts
Wanted
Join the fun on
stage!
To be in Cabin
Fever Follies all you need to do is come up with a brief 2-4 minute
act...dancing, singing, jokes, story telling, banjo playing, juggling,
lip synching, anything that you think would entertain others also
suffering from Cabin Fever.
If
you are a veteran act, just give Director Doug Bergstein a call, if you
are new, come to auditions no matter how far along your act is
prepared. Questions, help, suggestions or if you want to be on stage,
but can't make it to auditions, email
us!
Raisinettes
Wanted
Raisinettes are
people who have a secret yearning to be on stage and don't want anyone
to know or people who want to be on stage and want everyone to know
everything. They run around between acts with strange costumes on
holding signs with messages from the audience. These messages cost a
small donation, the proceeds of which go to a local charity or
organization. This year (2008) the proceeds go to Central Vermont
Adult Basic Education. So, if you want to support CVABE and be
a Raisinette, just email and
let us know!
