SCRIPT SELECTIONS (SIDES) FOR AUDITIONS
At auditions, you will be asked to read scenes from the play with other auditioners. The director will be looking to see your expressions and attitude as the characters, as described HERE. Below are links to pdf files of a few scenes. You do not have to memorize these for auditions, but it's a good idea to be familiar with them. You may be asked to read other scenes at auditions, but these will give you a good idea of what to expect. Break a leg!
1. Charlie, his parents, and grandparents discuss Charlie's future. This script selection is for Charlie, Mrs. Bucket, Mr. Bucket, Grandpa Joe, Grandma Josephine, Grandpa George, and Grandma Georgina.
2. Phinneous Trout, a reporter, interviews the Golden Ticket winners. This script selection is for Trout, Augustus, Mrs. Gloop, Veruca, Mr. Salt, Violet, Mrs. Beuaregarde, Mike, and Mrs. Teavee.
3. Charlie meets the Candy Man and finds his Golden Ticket. This script selection is for Charlie and the Candy Man.
4. Mr. Wonka meets the Golden Ticket winners. This script selection is for Wonka, Augustus, Mrs. Gloop, Veruca, Mr. Salt, Violet, Mrs. Beuaregarde, Mike, and Mrs. Teavee, Charlie, and Grandpa Joe.
